The Evil Red Sox Empire??

Published by sweez at 9:13 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

At one point in time the Boston Red Sox were a team that nobly combated the evil New York Yankee empire. However it appears times have changed.

The Red Sox, who once tried to stand up for all that is good in baseball, are quickly turning into the very thing they sought to destroy.

It’s a classic case of lust for power conquering over good, and actually draws striking similarities to the development of Anakin Skywalker’s character in Star Wars.

Ever since the World Series victory of 2004, the Red Sox have morphed into a carbon copy of the Yankees. The only differences being that they are slightly less evil and are a heck of a lot smarter with their money.

In addition, the Red Sox have possibly the most annoying fan base in baseball. No franchise has more uneducated, bandwagon fans. Ok, so maybe the Yankees still take the cake for ‘uneducated’, but the Red Sox fan base outside of Boston is a bunch of uneducated bandwagoners.

And this terminology of “Red Sox Nation” is ridiculous. I’m always hearing the ESPN guys say “Oh it was a good day for ‘The Nation’”. Stop Already. There are plenty more reasons but I want to emphasize this next point.

The Red Sox now operate the same way the Yankees do: Spend and spend until you get everything you want. As I said about the Yankees in my earlier post, this really contributes to much of what is wrong with today’s society.

With all of their wealth, the Yankees, Red Sox (and to a lesser extent the Dodgers) are able to treat this beloved American sport like a video game where they can stack their team with whoever they want.

The Yankees and Dodgers have been doing this for years, but fortunately for all who truly love the game, they have had complete morons calling the shots. The Red Sox, on the other hand, know what they’re doing, making them ever more dangerous. They have the most talented roster in baseball, the power to do whatever they want, and are on the brink of starting their own dark dynasty.

Fortunately for us, a new hope has arisen. A new power has come to combat these evil empires. Ahhh yes…..The Rays .
