AA- San Antonio 2, Corpus Christi 1

Steve Garrison threw six innings and struck out seven for the Missions. Greg Burke earned his eighth save of the year. On the offensive side, outfielder Chad Huffman went 3-for-4.

Brian Joynt went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI to lead the Storm. Shortstop Jesus Lopez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and catcher Mitch Canham was 2-for-4 with two runs.

A- Fort Wayne first baseman Felix Carrasco won the Midwest League Home Run Derby by hitting 21 home runs at the competition. Carrasco, 21, is a native of the Dominican Republic, where the Padres recently constructed a state-of-the-art training facility. Carrasco is hitting .258 with 12 homers and 46 RBI in 209 at-bats.
